The 2013 EC Griffith Cup is in fact this year the 100^th anniversary and is in fact the Southern Hemispheres oldest motor sport trophy.

This year it is being held just outside Melbourne and has the opportunity to really grab the public’s imagination. These are the fastest Automotive power boats in the world. 170mph (270kph).

The first time back in Australia for many years, after wresting it back from Kiwi land last year. It is a Trans Tasman event and we have some Kiwi teams shipping across their Grand Prix Hydroplane fron New Zealand as you read this..

This is the oldest motor sport trophy within the southern hemispher being 104 years young. It’s had a few years when the cup hasn’t been able to be run but in total it’s been run about 80 times..
